EFFECT

Introduction
With around 1,300 new diagnoses in 2020, endometrial cancer is the most common gynaecological cancer in Belgium. Understanding how endometrial cancer is treated in Belgium can lead to a healthcare policy with more uniform and successful treatments in all hospitals.

Objective
This registration project aimed to evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of treatments in uterine cancer through data registration. To this end, quality indicators were calculated from scientific literature that were then selected by a multidisciplinary working group. The project database contains data on all malignant tumours of the uterus (excluding cervical cancer) supplied by participating hospitals diagnosed between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2016.

Financial support and partners
The EFFECT registration project was a joint initiative of the Anticancer Fund and a representative group of Belgian gynaecologists. The latter group consisted of members of Groupement des Gynécologues Obstétriciens de Langue Française de Belgique and members of the Vlaamse Vereniging voor Obstetrie en Gynaecologie. Kom op tegen Kanker supported this project financially.
